When Friends Find Your Pin Cushion

So this week was slightly disappointing. I decided after making a couple toddler t-shirt quilts for a friend I would try and make my own. I bought a lovely Moda Jubilee fabric charm pack. One important thing about quilting I learned is planning. I calculated everything in my head and that was not a good idea. The huge quilt that I was going to make is only a small childs sized quilt.  Now I must wait until I buy another charm pack or two. Bummer. It is turning out really well though. I love the colors of the charm pack and picked a grey fabric to make the chevrons.
Alas!  My unfinished quilt!
So with that disappointment, I was determined to finish something yesterday.  My friend wanted me to crochet a chibi Charizard.  I have not crocheted in a long time and just took up knitting.  I have been feeling like my to do list is growing faster than I can catch up.  So I decided to whip up a cute Charizard pillow instead.  I almost did not finish it as I did not realize I had no orange thread!   It would have been convenient for me to run to the store later in the week, but after my previous days failed attempt I was resolved to have it done!  So here he is!  I hope my friend likes it.  :)

On another note and title of this blog post, I had some friends over and they got a hold of my pin cushion.  I think they decided to help me.  One ordered the sewing needles from small to big and the other made sure everyone knew who the pin "cushin" belonged to.  (He knows how to spell, he just ran out of pins.)  ;)
